Through working in the Collateral Management Operations team at Euroclear Bank Brussels office, I have acquired great experience and knowledge of the finance industry as well as practical skills in business workplace. My experience in the financial infrastructure institution granted me a clearer vision of my future career path and pursuit. It was surely a very fruitful summer.

I had numerous duties and responsibilities that facilitated the workflow of the team. At the beginning of the internship, I was assigned to the conduct compliance checks. It was a task that required strong analytical skills and high sensitivity to details, adding to the challenge was the urge to meet the tight deadline in times of high volume. I learned to become an excellent observer and a quick learner. Two weeks into the internship I was given more duties, the most important of which was to compose contracts for the bank and its client. I felt a strong sense of achievement as the internship was very fulfilling. On top of that, my colleagues and team leaders were very encouraging and open to communication, giving me a sense of belonging in the tightly bonded team.

I also took advantage of the location and travelled around Europe during the holidays. Being away from home greatly strengthened my independence and I developed the habit to carefully manage my finances in everyday to deal with the struggles in the society and take more responsibilities as an adult.

I am very grateful for having this internship to demonstrate my intelligence, enthusiasm, organization, analytical strength and communication skills in everything I did. This was a very precious opportunity and I would like to give a big thanks to everyone who made this possible.
